Alderwood builds cabinetry for Legacy homes to that standard, designed and manufactured in our own Treasure Valley shop.
The homes of Legacy
Legacy runs from substantial two-story move-up homes to larger custom builds, most in a transitional or craftsman-leaning style with open kitchens and dedicated mudroom and laundry zones. Because so many are primary family homes rather than showpieces, the rooms that get used hardest — the kitchen, the drop zone off the garage, the pantry — are where good cabinetry pays off. Many Legacy owners come to us to remodel a kitchen that was fine as builder-grade but never fit how the family actually cooks and stores.
Cabinetry that suits a Legacy home
For Legacy we most often build a painted Shaker perimeter — clean, timeless, and forgiving of daily use — warmed with a stained white-oak or knotty-alder island. Deep drawer banks for pots, a real pantry wall, appliance garages to clear the counters, and a mudroom with a locker per person are the details that make these homes work. Everything is built on plywood cases with dovetailed drawer boxes and full-extension soft-close hardware, in finishes chosen to wipe clean and wear well.

Designed, built, and installed by one team
Whether it’s a new Legacy custom build or a kitchen remodel in an established home, the same shop draws the plan, mills the cabinets, and installs them. That means the person who designed your kitchen is accountable on install day, and a remodel is coordinated — cabinetry, layout, and the trades around it — rather than bid out to three vendors who never speak. As a licensed Idaho contractor (RCE-6681702), your project is permitted and handled correctly.
