Custom Range Hoods
A custom wood range hood turns the wall behind the range into the focal point of the kitchen. We design and build the hood surround as millwork — sized to your range and ventilation, finished to match your cabinetry — around the insert that does the actual venting.
The centerpiece of the kitchen wall
In a kitchen without upper cabinets over the range, the hood is what the eye lands on. A custom wood surround — tapered, boxed, or mantel-style — gives that wall a built, architectural presence that a stainless chimney hood can't, and ties the range zone into the room's cabinetry and millwork.
Built around real ventilation
A range hood has a job to do. We build the decorative surround to house a properly sized ventilation insert and duct path, so the hood looks like millwork but vents like equipment. The insert and its sizing are coordinated during design against your range and layout — the woodwork wraps the function, it doesn't replace it.
Matched to your cabinetry
Because the same shop builds your cabinets, the hood is finished in the same wood and paint, with detailing — straps, corbels, a shaped mantel, or clean modern lines — chosen to suit the kitchen's style. Painted to match the perimeter or built in a contrasting wood as a deliberate accent, it reads as part of the whole.
