There is no single price for custom cabinetry, and anyone who quotes one before seeing your space is guessing. What we can do is explain honestly what moves the number, so you can plan with confidence and know where your budget is going.
A note on numbers: We deliberately don’t publish dollar figures here. Custom cabinetry is priced by what it takes to design, build, and install your specific kitchen, so any range on a web page would be false precision. The most useful thing we can give you is an honest map of the cost drivers, plus a preliminary calculator — with a firm price confirmed only after an in-home measurement.
What Drives the Cost
Size & linear footage
More cabinetry means more material and labor. Tall pantry runs, floor-to-ceiling walls, and large islands all add footage — this is usually the single biggest lever on the total.
Construction method
Inset doors cost more than overlay because they demand tighter tolerances and more hand-fitting. Frameless construction asks for precision throughout. The way the door meets the box is a real cost decision, not just a look.
Wood species
Species prices vary widely — from paint-grade maple to figured walnut. The wood you choose can move the material cost substantially before any labor is added.
Finish
A simple clear coat is the least labor; painted, multi-step, and glazed finishes each add shop time and cure time. Finishing is often where a modest kitchen and a high-end one quietly diverge.
Interior fittings
Soft-close everything, pull-outs, drawer organizers, corner solutions, and specialty storage add up quickly. Each is worth choosing deliberately rather than by default.
Complexity & fit
Irregular rooms, angled or curved runs, furniture-style detailing, and integrated appliance panels all take more design and shop time than a straightforward layout.
