The Shaker door — a flat center panel framed by four square rails and stiles — is the most versatile look in cabinetry, and we build it as true custom work: any wood, any finish, sized to your walls rather than a catalog.
Why Shaker fits so many Idaho homes
The Shaker door reads clean without reading cold. Painted, it anchors a transitional or farmhouse kitchen; in white oak or alder, it leans warm and modern. That range is why it works equally well in a Boise foothills remodel and an Eagle new build — it takes on the character of the wood and finish you choose rather than imposing a strong style of its own.
Built as real custom cabinetry
A Shaker door is simple to picture and demanding to build well: the rails and stiles have to be square, the reveals consistent, and the panel detailed to move with Idaho's dry seasons. We build ours on plywood cases with dovetailed drawer boxes and full-extension soft-close hardware, painted on maple with MDF center panels for a furniture-smooth surface or stained on solid wood to show the grain.
Full-overlay or inset
Shaker works as a full-overlay door for a clean, current front at a moderate cost, or as an inset door — flush within the face frame — for the most tailored, furniture-like result. We help you weigh the look against the budget during design, then build whichever you approve to fit your room exactly.
