The concept
Foothill contemporaries above Boise want warmth against big glass and stone. This piece answers with knotty alder and white oak in flat-panel doors — the wood’s character reads mountain, the clean fronts read modern, and a substantial island grounds the open plan.
How we build it
The cabinetry is drawn to the walls and built in our Treasure Valley shop with plywood cases and dovetailed drawer boxes on soft-close slides. Floor-to-ceiling storage uses the room’s height, and the two woods are finished in-house so the alder and oak tones stay in balance.
Details that matter
Slim pulls and flat fronts keep the look quiet, under-cabinet and interior lighting are planned into the build for the evening, and the wood is acclimated to the dry foothill air before building so it stays stable through Idaho’s seasons.
