Built-Ins & Millwork · Boise North End
Boise North End Fireplace Bookcases
A representative project in the classic idiom of Boise’s North End: painted built-in bookcases flanking a fireplace, milled to match the home’s character.

A representative capability piece — it illustrates the materials, construction, and design approach we bring to this kind of project, not a photograph of a specific past client’s home.
The concept
The North End’s older homes reward built-ins that look original to the house. This piece frames the fireplace with a matched pair of painted bookcases over base cabinets, with a mantel and trim profiles drawn from the home’s existing character.
How we build it
Because the profiles are matched rather than approximated, we measure and mill to the home’s existing trim so the new work reads as if it has always been there. Painted on stable substrates for a dead-flat finish, the bookcases are built to the wall around the fireplace.
Details that matter
Adjustable shelving handles a real book collection, base cabinets hide the clutter, and the paint and profiles tie the built-ins to the room’s existing millwork. In a character home, that continuity is the whole point.
