The concept
The North End’s older, character homes suit the most traditional door style — inset, where the door sits flush within the face frame like fine furniture. A painted finish keeps the kitchen bright and classic while respecting the neighborhood’s established feel.
How we build it
Painted cabinetry is built on maple with MDF center panels, which paint dead-flat and stay stable through Idaho’s dry seasons, minimizing the seam movement painted wood can otherwise show. Inset construction demands tight, consistent gaps all around, so the stock is acclimated and each door is fitted precisely to its opening.
Details that matter
Concealed soft-close hinges and full-extension slides keep the cabinetry feeling tight for the long run, while a full-height pantry and deep drawers add the storage an older home usually lacks. The result reads as if it has always belonged to the house.
