The concept
The door from the garage is where a household’s day really begins and ends, and it works best built rather than furnished. This piece gives everyone a locker, a bench to sit and pull off boots, and a spot for the daily clutter — coats, bags, keys, and devices.
How we build it
Durable plywood cases and wipe-clean painted finishes stand up to ski gear, mud, and daily wear. Open cubbies let wet gear dry, hooks are set at adult and child heights, and a bench with hidden boot storage keeps the floor clear.
Details that matter
A message center and a charging station corral the small things that otherwise land on the kitchen counter, a tall cabinet takes the vacuum and brooms, and the whole run is finished to match the rest of the house so it reads as intentional, not an afterthought by the garage.
