A Design Consultation, Not a Showroom Floor

We don’t sell from a retail showroom. Custom cabinetry is designed around your home, so we work by appointment — a focused consultation, samples brought to the decisions that matter, and a measurement in the space itself.

A retail showroom is built for choosing from what is on display. Custom cabinetry works the other way around: the design starts from your home, your architecture, and how you actually live, and the wood, door style, and finish are chosen for that — not from a floor of stock displays. So instead of asking you to walk a showroom, we bring the consultation to the decisions your project calls for.

Working by appointment also means your time is spent on your project rather than on a showroom’s overhead. It is a more personal way to begin, and it keeps the focus where it belongs — on designing cabinetry that fits your home to the inch.

What to Expect

01

A real conversation, not a sales floor

We start by understanding how you live and cook, the way your home is used, and what you want the space to become. There is no showroom to walk and no pressure to choose from a display — the design begins with you, not a catalog.

02

Samples brought to the decisions that matter

Rather than a wall of options, we bring wood species, door styles, and finish samples to the choices your project actually calls for. Seeing knotty alder, white oak, or a painted sample against your own light and finishes is far more useful than a showroom under fluorescent lights.

03

An in-home measurement

An honest design and a firm price both need the real space. We measure your kitchen, room, or wall — accounting for out-of-square walls, returns, and existing conditions — so the cabinetry is drawn to what is actually there.

04

A design and a real proposal

We develop the layout, wood, door style, finish, and fittings into a design and a detailed, itemized proposal. You see what each element contributes, and the number is confirmed only after the space is measured and the details are set — never guessed over the phone.

Design, Build & Install — Under One Roof

Because Alderwood designs, manufactures, and installs in-house, one accountable team carries your project from the first sketch to the final door — no handoffs between vendors.

Design

We draw your cabinetry to the room and to how you use it — layout, storage, proportions, and details — and refine it with you until it is right.

Build

Your cabinetry is manufactured in our Treasure Valley shop: plywood cases, dovetailed solid-wood drawer boxes, and hand-applied finishes, built to the inch for your home.

Install

The same team that designed and built your cabinetry installs it — scribed to the walls, tuned, and finished on site — so one accountable shop owns the result from first sketch to final door.

Getting started is simple. Tell us about your project through our contact form and we’ll be in touch to arrange your consultation.
